Word has been received of the death of Ellsworth, Kansas of CJ Evans, a former Montgomery County citizen and brother of Mrs. H.H. Talbot. At one time Mr. Evans studied law in the office of PS Kennedy. He has lived in Kansas for the past 30 years. He was 59 years of age and leaves a family. - kbz
Note: Hettie Ann Evans Talbott was the daughter of Samuel and Mary Woodruff Evans. Samuel died young.and Mary remarried. C.J. and Hettie had a younger brother Samuel, whom he helped raise. Charles is found in the 1900 Ellsworth Kansas census born January 1850 with wife, Isabel age 43 Lou M 13 and Jessie I age 1
